Dahlia Shehata


Dahlia Shehata is an Assyriologist who specializes in Ancient Mesopotamian languages, culture, and society, with particular emphasis on music history. Her dissertation Musiker und ihr vokales Repertoire (Göttingen 2009) focused on the 2nd millennium BCE. Her Habilitation (Würzburg 2018) explored her second research interest in literature and religion and dealt with the Akkadian Epic of Anzu, a mytho-logical cosmic bird. Currently she is organizing an exhibition on Ancient Music for the Martin von Wagner-Museum, Würzburg.
